Always Attract

First things first MSU men's basketball going to the Final Four in Detroit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I bet everyone is ready for this tournament to be over so I'll stop talking about it.) No one thought they would make it but they did! It is a great time to be a Spartan :)

I'm supposed to go see Bo Burnham this Saturday but now that we are in the final four our game is that day. Decisions, decisions.

So I was sitting around today just thinking about my biggest fears in life. And I came up with two major ones right off my head.

1) Losing all of my friends, either just drifting apart or losing them through deaths. I actually find this one a little weird actually, because today some of said friends were in bitchy moods so I was hanging out and realized that sometime I just love to be alone with my music and my thoughts. I guess my fear is just not having the option? It's hard to describe.

2) I am petrified of dying a horrible death. When I was in a psychology class one time our teacher asked us what we thought about all the medical breakthroughs, and how they affect us. He then pointed out that if we found a cure for all diseases and old age everyone would be guaranteed to die a horrible death (fire, drowning, shooting, etc). I think I would much rather die in my sleep than die in some unnatural way.

This is a pretty morbid post, sorry about that. I'm not even in a down mood right now things have been going great. I don't know, what are your biggest fears?

American Boy

If you aren't a Kanye fan don't worry, it's not his American Boy song, it's Juliette and the Licks. She's pretty much a bad ass.

Anywho. Clearly I finally settled on a new layout it's still a work in progress, we'll see how long it lasts. But so far so good.

The MSU womens team lost lost tonight by one and it was a bunch of crap, they should've had some free throws at the end but they didn't :(. Oh well, they made a great run!

Recently I have come to the decision that I want to adopt a sea otter, is that allowed? What are the laws on this?

Today was such a great day, I watched basketball, a SVU marathon, and several hours of both It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Arrested Development. Also I made cookies and got my homework done. I love weekends.

Hope everyones weekend is ferosh.

MSU Shadows / Fight Song

MSU mens bball is in the Elite Eight!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was such a great game, we were down by 13 at one point and came back to win by 5!!!

I'm so happy, no one thought we would win.

In honor of all the drunk college students outside I was singing with on the walk home tonight the title song is a combo of MSU shadows and the fight song. They are drilled into my brain, and I love it!

Revenge Is Sweeter Than You Ever Were

In an effort to further procrastinate my studying I'm going to write a quick blog post because I know that later I'll be freaking out about said studying.

First off I'd like to congratulate my friend Allyssa and the rest of the MSU Women's basketball team on beating the 1 seed Duke team and making it to the Sweet 16! A little back story makes the win even better, the Duke coach is a former MSU coach. Two years ago she resigned her contract with MSU and then one week later decided she'd rather be at Duke so she just took off. So for the Junior/Senior class on the womens team this was a great revenge win (hence the title song). So huge congrats to them.

Also in reference to the Veronicas, my love for their first cd is on a whole different level than my love for the second, but this song fit perfectly.

That's all that has gone in my life lately, tonight I might go see I Love You Man, but probably not since I have so much studying.

Hope everyone else has something better than studying to do.

He Lives In You

Before everyone starts wondering why I posted a Lion King song, you can just skip right to jealousy about me seeing Lion King tonight (Musical, not VHS). It was so amazing, I have since made a Circle of Life ring tone and watched one too many You Tube videos.

Anyway, that's about as exciting as my life gets these days. Saturday I went to lunch with some friends and then saw "Duplicity" with my old roommate. I really liked it, although I was confused probably 30% of the time. But overall the movie was very funny and not predictable at all, the ending just kept changing! And Julia Roberts pretty much owns, I bought Steel Magnolias the other day, just to reminisce.

Saturday night I did a whole lot of nothing other than play with my new watch.

Pretty flipping sweet if you ask me, it runs on a battery but also gets charged by your movements, plus you can see the insides working! (Maybe only engineers think that's cool???)

Today my mom, aunt and friend came and took Maria and I out to lunch and then to the Lion King. All in all, excellent weekend!

Hope ya'll had great weekends too!

Wall of Sound

Since I saw "Naturally 7" (the title band) on Jimmy Fallon one night last week I have downloaded the c.d. and have been frantically watching videos... I just find it so crazy they can make all of those sounds haha.

Let me catch you up on what I did Thursday: Nothing. Congratulations, you are now caught up.

Today I tried to get some homework done and then went over to my friends Jason, Brad and Steve's. We started playing out the NCAA March Madness bracket but in beer pong. Needless to say it was a lot of fun. Then we ordered tons of unhealthy college food and got settled for the MSU game (which we won!!!). Now I'm really tired even though its only 1.

I'm also really thinking about changing my blog layout but have several concerns. 1) It's only been like 5 months. 2) I'm much to lazy to go through all that work.

How often do you all change your layouts?

Oh! and Happy Weekend!

Okay I promise to try and be better about posting, schoolwork is having it's way with me at the moment and taking over my life. Hence the title song from one of my fav. bands ever, Jimmy Eat World, any song would have done so spend some time flipping around youtube.

On an optimistic note I haven't done much since the last post so that's a plus. Saturday I went out with a friend for ONE drink which of course turned into two, and then three, and then four, and then the bar closing. My mom came up Sunday and dropped off a life-size Zac Efron stand-up that we gave to our roommate for her birthday.

Monday was spent trying to not drown in engineering work. And then of course yesterday was St. Patrick's Day. I had class all day so I had to wait until 6 to start drinking, lucky for my liver, I'm also broke so I was done drinking by 11 haha. Party Animal I know. While we were at Dublin we met St. Patrick and he handed out light up rings and necklaces that advertised Miller Light. Very saint like.

Came back and ate some brownies courtesy of Tracy DeHaan (my friends mom) probably some of the most delicious things I have ever consumed. Andddd then today more classes.

I'm in the process of trying to get a job for this summer and it made me want to know what is the worst job you have ever had?

Mine was working for a car/house insurance company and basically being a telemarketer and asking people if they wanted a quote. I got yelled at ALL THE TIME.

Okay well Ashley and Pete Wentz are on CSI right now and I need to watch this haha. Night!

I'm In Miami Bitch

Okay so I was in Edgewater... semantics!

Is it weird that on my "Spring Break" I had no time to do anything, let alone blog? I probably could of, but I was too busy relaxing haha.

So we left Friday which, ironically, happened to be a 70 degree day in Michigan, I almost decided to stay home haha. We made it to my cousins in Atlanta in 12 hours with several hilarious quotes and ridiculous billboard pictures. And I have recently discovered that I have severe night blindness haha.

Saturday we went to breakfast with my cousin and got on the road towards Florida. Amber was driving the speed limit like a good citizen so the ride was going slow, then when I took over I went my normal 85-90 mph and quickly made up for lost time. By the time we made it to Florida it was dark and we ended up just sitting outside soaking up the nice weather. My aunt and uncle (who we stayed with) picked up my cousins baby Nathan so I could see him while I was down there. I love him to death, but he makes me reconsider having children. Luckily, he makes up for it in adorable-ness overload.

When my cousin Ashley got out of work we met her in Daytona so we could walk around bike week. Bike week is... indescribable, hundreds of thousands of crazy ass bikers wearing ass-less chaps, if that. All of the bartenders just wear underwear and people are just ridiculous, I can't even express how crazy it was.

Sunday we were at the beach as soon as we woke up and as per usual I forgot to put on sunscreen and got a little burnt, not to bad though. In an attempt to be productive I tried to do homework but it didn't work and I went to bed early so I could function the next day.

Monday we woke up at 7:00 a.m. and went to meet Ashley's friend to go out fishing on the inter coastal. He runs charters but took us out for free instead of 400$. We caught 7 fish total, 4 small ones we kept for dinner and 3 big ones that were too big to keep. We named them like hurricanes; Antonio, Bendito, Chaz, Dick Dumas, Enrique, Fernando, Gilbert. I caught the biggest fish of the day and in the process got 2 bruises and hurt my wrist severely, but it was totally worth it, he weighed over 30 pounds and 38-40 inches long.

The rest of the vacation consisted of the beach everyday and hanging out, going shopping, etc. We got in the car to head back and halfway to Georgia we decided we were going to skip the stop in Atlanta and do the whole drive. I drove all the way through Kentucky and Tennessee, and OF COURSE Kentucky would have a snow storm when I'm driving through, it was so crazy! When Amber was sleeping around 4 a.m. I started making up stories about where everyone was going to keep myself awake.

Other than taking forever and the fact that I left my jacket in Florida so I was freezing the whole time, the ride was good. We stopped in each state to get shot glasses, but somehow forgot Ohio. We got back at 9 a.m. and I feel asleep until 4:30, since then I have watched television and gave up on my futile resistance of twitter.

Now I should probably attempt some homework and leave you all with a picture that sums up my break! (maybe more to come?!?! we'll see how this one goes over.)

(Picture credit to my cousin Ashley, who took way too many random photos on my camera!)

High of 75

I know what you are all thinking, "I wonder what Jeanette is up to tonight, her being the amazingly awesome person that she is." Let me tell you the answer my friends. Maria and I are watching Land Before Time (and possibly 2 and 3). What else would someone as amazingly awesome as myself be doing?

Man... this is such a great movie and to prove it i have two exhibits.

Exhibit A: just watch it.

Exhibit B: A little script excerpt from the movie (Little foot talking to Rooter about his mother's death).
"It's not your fault, it's not your mother's fault, it's nobody's fault. The great circle of life has begun, but, you see, not all of us arrive together at the end. "
"What'll I do? I miss her so much"
"You'll always miss her, but she'll always be with you if you remember what she taught you. You'll never really be apart for you're still a part of each other."

So true! I mean I guess I never really understood the deepness of the movie... I mean I think I got it when I was like three. But it is like a very relevant movie, regardless of the half hour it took to rewind it (that was an exaggeration... but it was a really long time.) I just finished a 40 oz. slurpee of mountain dew mixed with cherry limeade... and man was that limeade strong.

Anyways, since the last post I feel like I have been super busy, but it doesn't seem like it when I think about it... I'm pretty sure it's because I had massive amounts of homework this week, overkill for sure. On Tuesday I went to Los Tres for my friends birthday and then at midnight a bunch of us went to the Breslin to welcome back the mens basketball team. Why you ask? Just the really small fact that they ARE THE BIG TEN CHAMPS!!!!! It's the first year it has happened since I've been attending the fine institution and it is awesome.

Wednesday Allyssa came over after her basketball game and we just watched a movie and hung out. They had to leave at 7:00 a.m. so she left around 10:00 and Maria, Erin, Ally and I headed to Bdubs for my friend Amber's birthday. B dubs was hilarious because of a couple different things, a) Amber was wasted by the time we got there (oh, 21st birthdays) and b) there was a group of about 7 old guys all who were also drunk and very talkative.

One guy was sooo funny, he was just making voices and telling us not to date guys named Mark. Nicole and I played two of them in pool and won, which rarely happens. I could go all night with quotes from these guys, but I'm sure everyone has good enough imaginations haha. I'll just give you one to start with: (to my friend Nicole with a huge purse) "Hey, when's your flight leaving?" Such a great night. Today I had class all day and have been trying to get my life together.

I really should be packing right now... instead of watching this movie... but I can't look away. Ducky has always been my favorite. My friend Allyssa has never seen any of the Land Before Time movies and now I am deciding that she needs to soon.

Anyways, I have a test tomorrow morning and as soon as I'm done, my friend Amber and I are off on our trip to Florida. We are driving so wish me luck haha!

And everyone enjoy the Reliant K song in the title! OOO and go rent Land Before Time, you won't regret it

I Think I'm Paranoid

I am starting this post by apologizing for two things:
1) repeating topics
2) being an emo, 20-something acting like I'm 13

Refresher, one of my good friends has been acting like their the coolest person ever who can't do wrong and who's opinion is the end of any discussion. And I know in my last person I said I was going to try and move on, yada yada yada, and I have been trying. I've been catching up with old friends and this weekend was great, thing is, for some reason I just keep thinking it will change. It isn't so Jeanette is now synonymous with failing at life. My attitude has completely changed over the past two weeks, even my best friend Alison could tell over the phone that something was bothering me. I played it off, but now I am realizing it's definitely not just in my head.

Whatever, moving on to bigger and better things. If anyone knew me at all they would know I LOVE going to concerts and shows and such events. And at the beginning of this year my numbers had been way down. But I'm getting them right back up really fast! I first went to "Spring Awakening" the other day, March 22nd I'm going to "The Lion King", April 4th I'm going to see Bo Burnham and then on April 7th I'm going to The Academy Is... with This Providence! Order has been restored.

Biggest news of the day.... wait for it.... I'm going to the No Doubt reunion tour with PARAMORE... my life is complete. Sadly though, I have to wait until July for that one.

In other less exciting news I am applying for a few internships for the summer, a little late I know, but I just came to the realization that if you don't have some kind of experience in the field you graduate from you are fucked. So wish me luck with all that business.

Today I was walking to class and realized I was lip-syncing the music on my iPod and immediately tried to stop as I looked like a fool, does anyone else do this? I find it weird that I do this because one of my biggest pet peeves is when people sing along with music whether it be on TV or radio, unless the volume is loud enough that I can't hear them. If I wanted to hear them sing I would have asked, like I want to hear the people who are getting the money to sing. Maybe that's why I only mouth the words, but moral of the story is I looked like an idiot.

I don't think I've done much else since the last post other than go to the MSU women's bball game and played in a basketball game. I need to start packing because I take forever.

Okay the caps probably wasn't completely necessary, but I love things that are pink, one of my guitars is, my wii, pretty much anything I can get in pink. This always shocks people, but what can I say, I'm contradictory.

Well that seems to be enough for today. Oh and just want to give a welcome back to Krystal! So jealous of your vacation magical-ness.
