No Rain

Don't worry dudes and dudettes, I'm still alive (it was touch and go for awhile there I know). Sadly this is gonna be a short post with hopefully a longer one either Sunday or Monday. Title song is from Meg & Dia, I saw them perform this last summer at Warped and it was awesome. I'm going to Warped tomorrow and they are playing again! And hopefully there will be NO RAIN (pun intended) even though there is a 30% chance.

I'm so jazzed for Warped. I'm too excited to sleep... but I'm gonna because I need to have energy for the marathon of concert watching. Anyways, I'm working on the blog layout, but I suck. It's taking way too long and I really just want to go back to 3 columns, so this will probably change whenever I can get around to it. If anyone wants to do one for me you are more than welcome. I would love you forever!

I am attempting to gather the stuff I need for school, pretty unsuccessfully if I do say so myself. I need to get new bedding (not to mention a new bed) and I'm really feeling these:

But I'm getting mixed reactions on them, which is causing me to doubt myself. I really like them, but my cousin says it looks like a 5 year olds room. But I would get black sheets, not those bright ass blue, I don't do fuzzy purple carpets or bed skirts, and my walls are not bright green. Taking all those factors into consideration I don't see the bedding looking too childish, but I can barely match my clothes, lets be honest.

I don't know what to do... opinions?

Oh and here's a comic so this post wasn't a complete waste of your time!

Guest Post #2: 1,2,3,4

**Natalie

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Once again, I would like to thank my guest blogger, Natalie, for a fabulous guest post. Head over to her blog for more greatness (Natalie has some wicked paint skills). Working on a new layout, can't decide on which one I like, I should be done with this madness soon I hope. Then I can get around to writing a legitimate post.

Treat Me Like Your Mother

Having a guest blogger was awesome! It gave me tons of time off, and what did I do with that time off you might ask? Found some new music duh, I'm probably late onto this bus seeing as this collaboration was announced in March, but better late then never I always say. Pretty much all I've listened to this weekend has been THE DEAD WEATHER. It is a collaboration of Alison Mosshart (The Kills, Discount), Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs), Dean Fertita(Queens of the Stone Age), and Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs and the Greenhornes). It's like a super band, kind of odd though because Jack White is an AMAZING guitar player, one of, if not the best in our generation, and on some of these songs he plays drums, which only makes me more aware of my complete and utter lack of skills. But this song blows my mind and the video is so awesome, click on the title song and hopefully it will be as epic to you as it is to me (especially with all they hype I just put in this paragraph, you'd think I was their agent haha).

Anyways, the week/weekend was great. For the Love of Pictures had a supercalifragilisticexpialidotious guest post on Thursday (Thanks again!). Friday I woke up and went golfing (got under a 50 woot!) then went to Applebee's and did some shopping. I bought this sweet statue, figurine? I'm not really sure what to call it haha

The cats clearly didn't know how to feel about it. I think it's kind of kitschy but awesome and can't wait to put it somewhere. After golf I took a nap and read some and then Cara finally got here. We ended up going to see The Ugly Truth with my mom and I am pretty glad my mom paid for it or I would have been angry at wasting my money. It was not my cup of tea, I didn't really expect it to be as I really don't like Katherine Heigl, but I liked her in Knocked Up, also I MOST DEFINITELY love Gerard Butler (especially in his tight black pants circa his turn as the Phantom of the Opera). So really It could've gone any way, but I thought it was pretty boring. The supporting cast was good, but the "jokes" just weren't funny to me. I felt like they were trying to hard to make it a Judd Apatow-esqe movie and failed big time. Cara likes Katherine Heigl and she didn't like the movie either, but my mom loved it, so who knows.

Anyways, after the movie we just talked for a while then passed out. Saturday we participated in a cavalcade of fun activities including, but not limited to:

1. Going to Lake Michigan to the beach.
2. Wine tasting.
3. Movies.
4. Late night Wal-Mart run.
5. Eating copious amounts of ice cream.

Then this morning we watched some Gilmore Girls (Cara wanted to see what the fuss was about) and then she headed back. All-in-all a pretty solid weekend I'd say. Now I'm sitting here in my Mario boxers eating some Strawberry and Peanut butter M&M's (mmmmmmm) listening to The Smiths and thinking about playing some guitar but thinking that all the way across the room is way to far to walk to get it right now. Can't wait for the next guest blog post on Thursday!

P.S. Here's an article from Newsweek about why Katherine Heigl is annoying, I knew I wasn't the only one!

P.P.S. I need a name for my dog statue. Go!

Guest Post #1 : Umbrella

This week has been full of rain and thunderstorms. When I was trying to think of something to write, I glanced over at the enormo-puddles outside my door and was reminded of the time I almost fell in the Delaware River. When I was about 13 years old, I had the opportunity to go to the Poconos with my best friend’s (bf) family for a week. It was amazing – the area was simply stunning, and there were loads of activities to do.

^^Enormo puddles outside of door^^

Everyone in my bf’s family knew how to ride a bike. I, however, hadn’t truly ridden a bike in years, and that one probably still had training wheels on it, but I decided to go with the flow. I mean, it didn’t look too hard. Pedal, pedal, pedal brake – right? I was going along fine until I saw a speed bump coming up in the distance. I remember hearing my bf’s dad say that I should pick up speed so that I could ride right over it. I picked up my pace, hit the bump, and fell off the trail. That’s right – off the trail.

You see the bike trail in question had woods on the right and an almost sheer 20 or so foot drop to the left. I, of course, fell to the left. I remember screaming and crying while I clutched to a tree trunk a few feet down. I had my legs wrapped around the bike to keep it from falling and just kept alternating between staring at the river and waiting for someone to pull me up (all the while screaming, of course). After what seemed like hours, but was actually only about 10 seconds, I saw my bf and her dad looking down at me. He was on his stomach trying to reach me, and my bf was holding on to him to give him some leverage. Over my screams I remember hearing him tell me two things: 1) stop screaming; and 2) drop the bike. There was just no way that either of those things were going to happen. 1) I felt as if my mouth and lungs were screaming all by themselves – the fear had to be released; and 2) well, I’m not really sure about this one. It was a combination of two things. My legs were pretty much locked. I was clutching the tree for dear life (did I mention that I can’t swim? A lifeguard tried to teach me once and gave up after about an hour as I couldn’t even float. I remember her shaking her head as she walked away and told me to stay in the shallow end of the pool) and wasn’t going to even twitch until someone was pulling me to safety. The second reason was purely financial. Even my 13 year old self was concerned about having to pay for a lost bike. I was 13. I didn’t have any money, and I didn’t want my bf’s family to foot the bill. I realize now that my rationale was crazy, but give me a break. I was hanging from a tree remember?

Anyway, they managed to pull me up and calm me down. It took a while, but the screaming stopped (that actually stopped as soon as I was pulled up), the tears stopped flowing, and my heart stopped racing; and then I got back on the bike. I got back on the bike, finished the trail and went on to enjoy another activity. It ended up being a really great week :) I had fun, left with wonderful memories and some funny stories, and learned some things. I learned 1) you should never discount the benefits of good upper body strength; 2) you should always ride bikes fast to get over speed bumps; and 3) I really like the Poconos :)

Thanks to Jeanette for having such a great contest and allowing me to share a little tidbit in her part of the blogoverse. Now you all know something about me. What childhood mishaps can you all laugh about now (you know, now that the necessary time has passed and the healing has begun)?

**For the Love of Pictures

-------------------------------------------------------------

Note from your loyal blog operator, me, Jeanette, I loved this post and I hope you all do as well! It has laughter, suspense, and a great title song to go with it, everything you need. Thanks to For the Love of Pictures for taking part in the contest and writing this awesome guest post complete with a cover by Vanilla Sky of Umbrella. Back to your regularly scheduled blogging after the weekend! Have a great one!

Oh and don't forget to head over to the blog and show some love!

Save Ginny Weasley

So I wasn't going to post a blog tonight, but I had a 2 hour and 3 minute conversation with my friend Carly... about Harry Potter. I feel like it was alright though, because we were discussing very serious matters like it's longevity, and which houses our friends and ourselves would be in... the whole phone conversation I was going through my Harry and the Potters albums on iTunes, I don't listen to them often, but if you are a HP fan they are awesome. The title song is one of their songs, so click on it if you want a good laugh.Anyways, after a very intense discussion we arrived at several monumental revelations.

1. Harry Potter will be around forever. Our kids will read them, their kids, etc. Where as we think Twilight is gonna fade out. I mean personally I wouldn't really want my kids to read Twilight until they were old enough to not think that Edward is the perfect guy. They need to know that his obsessive controlling behavior around Bella doesn't = true love. Don't attack me, I like the books, but I'm at an age where I can differentiate true love and crazy. Also, we know for us and a majority of our friends, given the option of one series for the rest of our lives HP would be an easy answer.

2. Carly can see me marrying Harry... err, Daniel Radcliffe (what can I say I have a type, and that type is nerdy, I won't hide it).

3. I will forever and always love Taylor Lautner, this stems from Shark Boy and Lava Girl, Carly hasn't seen this, but might possibly love him more.

4. We put most of our friends in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, possibly because there is a vague difference in our minds.

5. We of course put ourselves in Gryffindor (if you knew us you would understand). The only other girls making the Gryffindor house were Kiera and Ally. However, all of the cool MSU athletes along with Mark Dantonio and Tom Izzo made the cut (MSU Football and Basketball coaches). This is mostly because they don't talk to bitches.

6. After putting ourselves in Gryffindor, the decision was made that Carly would be Quidditch captain, I would be a good goalie, and we would both be prefects. We started a Polish Mafia MSU chapter so it only seemed reasonable that we would be the best and brightest... not sure how we made that connection, but we did.

^^Carly and I attempting a P for Polish Mafia, or prefect, whichever you prefer.^^

7. I may or may not move to England to find Harry...err... Daniel and marry him.

8. I (along with several other thousands of people) could have made a better Twilight cast
. Alice=Rachel Leigh Cook, Emmett=Tom Welling, Edward=Hayden Christiansen, Jasper=Orlando Bloom, Carlisle=Brad Pitt, Esme=Angelina Jolie, Rosalie=Gisele Bundchen, etc, etc. Ignore the fact that all of those are spelled wrong.

9. We discussed several more things but it basically boiled down to use running that joint we call Hogwarts. How it took 2 hours+ to come to that conclusion is beyond me. But here is a little visual enhancement for you (Myself and Carly in our Gryffindor robes, yeah I did):

Anyway, so I just needed to get the fact that I am in fact a huge nerd out in the open and help make my friend Lizzie know she isn't alone! Mostly because her reaction of "ummm. NO" to the Twilight movie made me realize we are on the same brain wave. So feel free to mock my intense nerd status, I can take it, and remember, guest post tomorrow! woot!

Last but not least, comic. I feel like I may get called retarded after this post so this is strangely appropriate.

Never Gonna Give Your Teen Spirit Up

In all seriousness guys I watched this video about 12 times at work today it was rick-diculous (pun intended). If you never click on any titles ever again, click on this one... it's just amazing and entirely too awesome haha. I can't even organize the rest of my thoughts I'm too enthralled with this video.

Okay, okay, I'll attempt the rest of my thoughts. Monday after work I shipped out all the contest winners packages. Then I went golfing with Kerry, good times. Started off a little rough but after a few drinks I started really doing well (read that with a touch of sarcasm). Well, I didn't do that bad, I was in the 50's haha.

Today at work me and the other co-op had to go pass out flyers about roadwork that everyone doesn't want, needless to say that wasn't fun. I'm getting over that trauma by alternating between this title video and camp rock (now that I don't have to hide my Demi Lovato addiction I can speak freely).

Anyways, get excited because Thursday will be the first of three guest posts! I'm super excited. Alright, well I'm gonna finish this movie and then do some reading and whatnot. Comic!

Haha this one is extra funny because my cousin and aunt had a very similar conversation around Easter... it went something like this:

Aunt: "Hey Jenny, don't you like my new wind chime?"
Jenny: "No I hate wind chimes."

So, this comic is tragically realistic. Lesson learned.

La La Land

I feel slightly ashamed for loving Demi Lovato as much as I do. I chalk it up to my inner 15 year old and her exact opposite-ness of the Devil (aka Miley Cyrus). Also I know Demi is pretty legit because she is friends/works with a bunch of cool people (New Found Glory, William Beckett of The Academy Is...). Anyways, her new cd comes out Tuesday, so I decided to reveal my secret love (previously only Maria knew) for her. So here's my sunday secret:

Phew, it feels good to get that off my chest haha. I'm listening to her as I type this and I just can't stop it's interfering with my normal selection of music styles haha.

Anyways, This weekend was great, work was work, but after I got out my old roommate Jessica came to visit. Friday we went shopping and I ended up buying a pair of Jordan's (not necessary) and Jessica got some shoes, we came back and watched House Bunny, which she had never seen. I just love that movie more and more every time I watch it!

Saturday we got up and went into Paw Paw. St. Julian winery is in town so we went on a tasting and a tour. Then we walked around town and saw some old cars and old friends. Had a quick lunch at Subway then went golfing, it was Jessica's first time and she did pretty well actually. After golf we did more shopping (also unnecessary) then had dinner at Applebee's. I had a ginormous mudslide and it was awesome. Saturday night we watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which she had also never seen, and it was also great.

This morning we got up and ready and she headed back to East Lansing and I headed to do more shopping (I'm getting ridiculous) I bought Kath & Kim on DVD and since then have been writing letters and trying to get things organized.

I have pretty exciting news! Starting this Thursday there will be a guest post from my contest winners each Thursday. This Thursday will be For the Love of Pictures, next Thursday will be Natalie, and two Thursday from now will be the grand prize winner MR. O. So look forward to those.

Oh! I forgot... I really wanted to go see 500 Days of Summer this weekend (was my plan for Friday night) and NONE of the theatres around me had it! I was terribly upset. I need to find a way to watch this soon.We also wanted to go tubing this weekend but it has been really cool for the summer so we decided to forgo the hypothermia and skip it. Here is a comic in honor of that.

The Few That Remain

I don't think a song has ever fit more perfectly, alright maybe it's not exactly perfect, but Set Your Goals just came out with the new c.d. and Hayley Williams is featured in a song and it is EPIC, epic I tell you! I might be biased because I pretty much love Hayley/Paramore and anything they do, but this song is fabulous. I like Set Your Goals new c.d. a lot, I was a fan of the old ones, but this one just made me love them all that more. I actually saw them in concert before, they were an opening band and that is how I was introduced to them.

Anyways, I'm sure most of you are probably more interested in the contest results! Sorry it took so long, I just got home not to long ago and had to do some stuff. But here we go, there was a tie for third so I drew a name. Here are the answers to the quiz if you were wondering:

1) Who is my favorite band? Paramore
2) Where do I go to school? Michigan State University
3) Name the artist with these lyrics "I don't wanna be so shy. Every time that I'm alone I wonder why. Hope that you will wait for me. You'll see that you're the only one for me" Britney Spears
4) Name 3 shows I watch religiously (I have a ton, should be easy haha) So many; Arrested Development, Freaks and Geeks, Dinosaurs, Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, How I Met Your Mother, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and a few others.
5) Where are Tegan & Sara from? Calgary, Alberta, Canada
6) Unscramble this band name. NAORHGPSTERIOTCOEM (Two words) Something Corporate
7) I've never mentioned this but what was my first concert? (if you guess this you get 1 billion points!) No one got this haha BILLY RAY CYRUS... hell yeah, that's baller status.
8) What am I majoring in at school? Civil Engineering
9) How old am I? 21
10) Unscramble this band name. EMIWDROYTLWMAJ (Three words) Jimmy Eat World

1st place : Mr.O, he pretty much dominated the quiz.
2nd place : Natalie, also did good on the quiz
3rd place : For the Love of Pictures

So I need all your names and addresses (can't address a letter to your blog title, email to jenziebenzie@gmail.com) and for 1st and 2nd place I need you're favorite candy as well :) In order to keep in this semi organized I'm going to respond to the email with a requested guest post day.

Congrats to all you winners and now onto more important things... Harry Potter (I kid, I kid... maybe...). Midnight show was great as always. I loved the movie, but I think I could have loved it more if they had included certain things, not going to mention them in case someone hasn't seen it. But the movie just reaffirmed my love for HP (movie and books) and my hatred of Twilight movies. I mean HP movies are just on a whole 'nother level! My friend saw HP in Lansing and Jennifer Granholm (our governor) was sitting in front of her, at the midnight show... that's awesome!

Today I had an interview at Best Buy, but I don't think my hours of availability were what they were hoping for. So I'm going to need to keep looking. I need a job for at school like whoa.

So ready for the weekend, should be super exciting! Woot! Alright, winners get ahold of me. Here is a consolation prize for everyone else.

Also, if you know anyone other than me who likes Paramore point them in the direction of the my auction on Ebay! CLICK HERE

Silly Game

Alright guys, I went through a lot of searching through my iTunes library to find a song with the word game in the title. So check it out. Why was the word game so important, you ask? Well if you must know it's because I have finally decided to get on with this contest I've been blabbering on about. Woot!

However before I get to that let me give a small review of "Like the Red Panda" Krystal if you like funny books you should read this! While it does cover a pretty somber subject, suicide, it does so with a humor that makes you almost forget that it is serious. Well that's a horrible explanation, let me just say that for most of the book I felt sad for the main character but her wit keeps you laughing out loud. I would definitely recommend it as a nice, quick read.

Alright onto the main order of business. This here contest, I'm broke so the prizes aren't the most amazing fabulous things one could win but bear with me, hopefully the next will be better. However, I think you will have a great time regardless, or not... either way. So here are the prizes I have decided on.

1st place: CD's (or a flash drive if I can find one) with every song I've ever used as a title on this here journal! Free music woot! Along with a letter of congratulations AND a guest post on Cooler Ranch or Nacho Cheese? (Only condition is you must put a song with a link as the title, your choice!) And with the package of your favorite candy sent to your doorstop.

2nd place: Also a guest piece on Cooler Ranch or Nacho Cheese? (Same rules) An awesome letter from yours truly and your favorite candy! (I love candy!)

3rd place: A guest post and a letter detailing how awesome you are. Almost as good as second place minus the candy!

Alright, so maybe the prizes aren't as good as you expected, and I'm a little worried about the candy in this weather but I love candy so screw the weather!

Okay here's how it's gonna go, I'm gonna do a points system and make it so there are several ways to win these fabulous prizes (act like you're excited will ya!) haha.

Everyone gets a point for a comment! Congrats! You're off to a great start!

The next oppertunity for points will be this short quiz about myself and music! (Email answers to jenziebenzie@gmail.com with your name as the subject)
1) Who is my favorite band?
2) Where do I go to school?
3) Name the artist with these lyrics "I don't wanna be so shy. Every time that I'm alone I wonder why. Hope that you will wait for me. You'll see that you're the only one for me"
4) Name 3 shows I watch religiously (I have a ton, should be easy haha)
5) Where are Tegan & Sara from?
6) Unscramble this band name. NAORHGPSTERIOTCOEM (Two words)
7) I've never mentioned this but what was my first concert? (if you guess this you get 1 billion points!)
8) What am I majoring in at school?
9) How old am I?
10) Unscramble this band name. EMIWDROYTLWMAJ (Three words)
One point for each right answer!

And on the off chance you don't feel like doing a quiz I'm giving one point for each follower you send my way, just have them give you a shoutout in the comments section.

So in summery: one point for just commenting on post.
one point for each question right sent to my email.
one point for new followers who say you sent them!

I considered not putting the followers, but I didn't want one person to just be at a disadvantage over the quiz and I wanted everyone to have a chance at candy! So participate if you'd like, don't if you don't want to. I'll be running this until Thursday, July 16th at 7:00 p.m. EST!

Best of luck, I'll be back tomorrow or the next day with a regular post. Can't wait to see your answers! And here is a comic to get you pumped!

Come As You Are

It's been a Nirvana type of day you know? Just hanging out, eating copious amounts of Mini wheats (very Cobain of me...what am I saying?), playing some guitar, and reading. You might be saying "why haven't you come up with a contest yet?" And while that is a valid question I am going to just say that I've been soooo busy (I haven't) but I've been thinking a lot (Sort of true...) and I'll get to it within the week (hopefully). So check out the title video and let Kurt's voice sooth you, I love their unplugged performance.

My weekend was exactly what I needed, lots of do nothingness. I caught up on sleep and almost finished my book and finally got started on going over and editing my journal from my trip last summer, yes you heard right, it has taken me a full year to get started. I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote most of those, they are missing words and sometimes complete sentences between thoughts. Hopefully I can get that done and then so I will feel accomplished.

Final bit of news: I'm beyond excited to go see Harry Potter on Tuesday night at 12:01. I have not missed a Harry Potter midnight opening yet, I just love Ron and Harry errr... I mean the movies haha. I think I would seriously consider marrying Rupert Grint or Daniel Radcliffe, however they would have to stay in character for the rest of our lives haha. Anyways, you guys can expect a review and maybe contest post in one. I'm seriously almost too excited to sleep. I have a problem.

Alright, back to the motorcycle search, who knew finding a cheap motorcycle that runs would be this hard? Oh and heres a comic!

It's Gonna Be Hard (When I'm Gone)

And just like that the celebration is over. My dear friends I have lost a follower. Was it something I said? I didn't even get a "It's not you it's me" speech, I'll never know. Instead I have to imagine that they gave me some kind of sign I didn't pick up on. They could have just posted the title video and I would have got the idea.

I was going to do the contest with this post (post 70!) *mini-celebration that is tainted by my sadness* but I decided against that because A) I still don't have any ideas on exactly what to do and B) Clearly I need time to grieve and come to terms.

Clearly I, along with my Build-a-Bear (it's my security blanket) are terribly distraught! If your wondering what emotion you're seeing in my face, it is pure, unadulterated sadness (with just a touch of hot mess [watch out...brackets! Give me a break, I can't be expected to look presentable past 8:00 p.m.]).

Alright, so maybe that was a tad much for losing just one follower, but it's my first casualty, if I can't oversell it now I fear I will never be able to. Anyways I don't want to pimp myself for followers but I need to figure out a way to redeem myself. WAIT! On second thought I still have all you lovely people and what more could a girl want, besides a endless supply of books and movies and a tropical getaway with some man candy and some cosmos, but I digress.

What was my point again? Oh yes, thanks for sticking it out with me and hoping that someday all of your patient reading will be rewarded. That day could come sooner than you think, pretty much as soon as I think of a cool contest. If you guys have any ideas, I have some descent prizes in mind (A cd or two and some guest blogging) all I need now is the contest. So help a girl out, I've had a very tough day!

Oh and just because I'm sad doesn't mean you have to be. Here is a comic!

I wish I was funny enough to write these on my own. My comics would be ridiculous (and not in a good way). Oh and I forgot last post, but it was the one year anniversary of my being in Pamplona for the running of the bulls! Oh the memories, but that is for another time kids, I'm tired. Don't forget to come up with some fun ideas!

Good Girls Go Bad

Today was an all around momentous day, I love it when that happens! First and foremost, I reached the legend...wait for it...dary mark of 25 followers! *Tosses computer aside, runs victory lap, examines now broken laptop* It's an odd feeling because initially followers weren't a main priority, but they are like Pringles, once you pop you can't stop (I compare you all to Pringles in the most loving way). Now that I'm at 25 I get the feeling I accomplished a goal I didn't know I had. So thank you all. Oh, and before I forget, if you are following me and I'm not following you (I think I am, but I get the "too much McDonalds" in the pit of my stomach feeling that someone is left out) please let me know! Also, because I didn't initially start out wanting followers, I'm still adjusting to writing to actual people instead of just myself, so bear with me please.

Alright next order of business, today at work I was running around telling everyone that at 12:34 and 56 seconds it would be 12:34:56 on 7/8/09. As exciting as I'm sure you all see that this is, people were not feeling my enthusiasm at 7:30 (thank you coffee!). So I ran around all day ate lunch in a hurry then turned on the atomic clock at my desk and waited with iPhone at the ready to catch this little beauty (please save all nerd comments until the end):

Annnnnddd after that my day was pretty much done as far as I'm concerned haha. But in all seriousness I basically checked out at that time. After work squeezed in some dinner and now I'm in my room alone, blogging and watching Practical Magic and wishing I had magical powers. When I was little Matilda was my movie, I would watch it and then practice and for a while I thought I was a sassy little witch that could make baby carrots stop mid-flight and turn around.

Well that whole paragraph did nothing to stop the nerd comments.

Also I forgot to mention that I finished The Book Theif. It was such a good book, I almost started over but then decided against it and opted to start Like the Red Panda, it's pretty good so far. But definitely check out The Book Theif if you are looking for some summer reading.

Last but not least, at Mr. O's request, a comic:

P.S. I have a contest in mind just figuring out the logistics, don't get crazy excited, but I think it should be fun!

P.P.S. Title song: Cobra Starship feat. Leighton Meister (who knew she could sing?) caught in my head all day, love the earlier Cobra best, but this has potential.

Weightless

Oh how I've missed you followers (now if only there were more of you... I kid I kid)!

I hope everyones fourth went well and the rest of the weekend (if you had a four day like me). I played golf again on Monday. I improved from last time so that was great. Yesterday Tyne came over and we were gonna play wii but somewhere in the move I lost a cord and just now realized it. Instead we watched some Reno 911 and ate candy. She splurged and bought me .99 cent breast cancer M&M's... she really knows how to treat a girl. Last night I couldn't fall asleep for the life of me. I hate nights like those, you know where you just can't turn your thoughts off? I just lie awake wondering if I'm making the right decisions and if I'll be happy when all is said and done.

I finally fell asleep at 2 a.m. and got 4 hours of restless tossing and turning. As you can imagine work was a schedule. After work I went to visit one of my old teachers and her daughter I used to babysit. I also pre-ordered Paramore's new album, the website was going soooo slow. I was going to post thier new song but 1) Mr.O beat me to it and 2) I thought I'd change it up for you guys. Instead I posted a song of All Time Low's new cd. I haven't had a chance to listen to the whole thing yet so I just went for the first single which has been stuck in my head all day.

I think tomorrow I'm gonna go buy Kath and Kim (American version not Austraillian) first season dvd's. It never got great reviews and did get cancelled, but I always loved it. Plus it has one of the guys from David Blaine Street Magic (Go click the link over on the right if you haven't seen it, part 2 is my favorite but they are all good) so that's a win in my book.

Does anyone else feel like this summer is flying by? It's more than half over!! Eek!

And just because I love you all so much, here's a comic.

Don't forget to watch the David Blaine skit

Bathwater

So far this weekend has owned. Thursday after work (which I left early so I wouldn't die of boredom) I headed straight to Farmington Hills. As soon as I got there Maria, her parents and I went to a car dealership to look at cars for her. She ended up making a deal on one, but while we were there her dad managed to break a light off a Jeep... that was pretty hilarious. I tried naming the car Jose but it was a no go... I'm now rooting for Barney haha.

Friday morning Maria had to work so it was decided that Gary (her dad, owner of Corvette mentioned previously) would go golfing. Long story short I ended up buying new golf clubs. Previously I had just used my dad and decided it was time to get my own... plus they were pink, and I'll buy anything if it's pink!

Golfing went better than I expected, I haven't golfed in a year, so I was concerned, but all was well, I had a 62, Gary's friend had a 58 and Gary and a 53 so I didn't make a complete fool of myself. Although after one of my swings I did just let the club go so it went flying behind me, I guess I did make a fool of myself.

After golfing I hurriedly changed and rushed Maria out the door so we could meet Ashley and Megan for the Paramore/No Doubt concert. After driving 40 minutes to the Palace (where the concert was) I realized I had forgotten my camera battery. Here's a little backstory for you, the last Paramore concert I was at my camera decided that I didn't need those pictures and deleted them so I wasn't about to not take pictures at this one. So much to Maria's dislike I sped back to her house making it in 25 minutes, sprinted up the stairs and set off back to the Palace. All in all I was only 15 minutes late for our meeting time, but still on time for the concert (Maria was grasping for life at anything she could find).

So we get the concert and go to our seats, which were awesome thanks to my lovely Washabaughs! As we are heading down to row D the ticket guy says "Do you know how to get to row D? Just follow the letters down reverse alphabetically" NO EFFING WAY Captain Obvious! Later on same said ticket person asked if the Washabaughs and I were together, seeing as two of them look exactly the same (twins) and I'm talking to both I'm gonna go on a limb and guess we are together. Haha ridiculous. On to more important things....

The concert was SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPEALIDOCIOUS!!!!! Seriously, up there in my top two or three, if not my favorite ever. Bedouin Soundclash opened up the show, we missed a majority of their set, but what we heard was good. Then Paramore came on and rocked as usual. I seriously have never seen them perform anything less than amazing. They did so good I think that even Maria (saying she's not a fan could be an understatement, they are just not her cup of tea) admitted that they did awesome, "It was eye opening." After the Paramore set we went to the merch booth and I bought a severely overpriced No Doubt shirt.

Another backstory, I now have upwards of 30+ concert tshirts and 2 or 3 sweatshirts. Yes, I'm aware I have a problem, but I'm definitely a jeans and tshirt girl so I wear all of them. Once I have passed this phase in my life I plan having all the shirts made into a quilt so that they will not be a huge waste of money. I can just imagine giving my kids the quilt and telling them that's those bands are the ones they should listen too haha.

Anyways, so we sat back down and No Doubt came on and left no doubt (pun intended) in anyone's mind that they ARE in fact back and more fabulous than ever. They definitely still have what it takes to just make you feel great. I caught myself just smiling uncotrollably and singing along at the top of my lungs. Meagan and I were concerned that they weren't going to sing Bathwater (click the title now, you know you want to) and we discovered that it was both our favorite song. Simple Kind of Life (go ahead and click that too while you're at it) is a very close second. It was really cool because when she sang "I always thought I'd be a mom" she had this huge grin on and everyone was cheering.

While singing Just a Girl, another favorite (who am I kidding, No Doubt were my idols growing up, I love every song) Gwen took a little intermission to talk about her dad who is from Detroit and who's birthday was today and she had everyone sing Happy Birthday to him and then told people to post it on YouTube so she could show him today. It was just an overall great concert. Especially cool when all three bands performed Stand and Deliver, which has never particularly appealed to me until now, it was so cool to see 15+ people working together. At the end of the concert Gwen pulled a girl up on stage who had a Gwen Stefani face tattooed on her thigh. She signed her leg and gave her a hug. That girl probably about died.

"I've had it up to here"

After the concert we watched a few episodes of How I Met Your Mother (I'm getting Maria addicted) and then fell asleep. I left for home this morning making a stop to see Public Enemies. It was good, but it was long, and felt long, I definely felt like I watched 2 hours and 30 minutes if that makes sense. But I do love Johnny so I can't complain.

Alright, I feel like this post is long enough (read: too long) for any of you who stuck with it thank you! And for those who did Facebook friend me in hopes of seeing more pics I will get those up shortly.

Happy fourth 'o July!

Love's Not A Competition (Cover)

So I know by now that those of you who have been reading for a while are probably getting sick of my constant Paramore posts, but I just can't help it. They did this cover of Kaiser Chiefs for a radio show and I just love it. But in an effort to not be biased (because I do love the Kaiser Chiefs) here is their version as well :: Love's Not A Competition :: So check out both of them and let me know your opinion. But the real reason I'm posting them as a title song AGAIN is that I'm going to my 6th Paramore concert Friday!!! I can't wait, No Doubt and Paramore, I mean really? That's just ridiculous! Oh and if you aren't sick of videos yet, here is a video yours truly took of Paramore at one of said past concerts :: Decoy :: Enjoy!

Work has been work as usual, I can't believe I've already been there 8 weeks. Everyone at work today said I resembled Dakota Fanning... which normally I would shrug off but this is like the 5th or 6th occasion I have been told this. It's becoming a little troublesome. I'll let you decide (Posting picture with my lighter hair for easier comparison, sorry about the half of my face covered it's the only one I could find looking directly forward. Just imagine the other half of my face):

Today Carey was super upset with Alltel and decided that she wanted to switch to AT&T so we got her an iPhone and added her to my family plan, just working on building the iPhone army. Tomorrow work will be dead and hopefully I can cut out early and head to Detroit for the 3rd weekend in a row. Oh and my last big announcement for the day. August 23rd I will be heading to Florida, woot! Hopefully we get to play with the manitees like last summer :)

That it my foot and those are manitees. Yep.

Anyways, I just thought I'd post this quick post before heading out for the weekend and just to appease Mr. O here are some pictures of Jack's Mannequin, but for future pictures Mr. O (and all fellow bloggers) feel free to friend me on Facebook www.facebook.com/jenziebenzie

At one point he jumped directly on the keys, pretty sure that's not good for them. But he's a bad ass.

Well that was a good time indeed. Now I want to hear from you, what were your favorite memories of the summer so far? I know I've most likely read them and commented already, but who doesn't need another time to tell thier favorite story. I definitely need to finish packing now, such procrastination, can't wait to hear your stories!
