The First Time

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone, especially those serving/with loved ones serving. I was more than ready for the 4 day weekend. Don't get me wrong, I like my job, but working 4 10 hour days a week reading papers takes a lot out of you. Come Friday I'm so ready to just sleep the day away it's ridiculous. Pretty much this is how I feel by then:

In other news, I was watching t.v. the other day and something came up that said more people meet their significant other online than in bars or other social places in the present day. I don't know if I believe it, but I can totally see it. What do you guys think about this statistic?

Also, I can't wait until I move to California, I feel like it's where I'm supposed to be. I can't really explain it, I mean I'm sad to leave all my friends obviously, but on the other hand I'm not worried about the move at all. Is it going to be a struggle? No doubt in my mind, but I know it's going to be worth it. I am so excited about where my life is headed.

Mostly I just wanted to get that picture posted haha. Have a good long weekend!

Oh P.S. How has it taken me this long to post a song by Family Force 5?!?

Call That a Comeback

I'M BACK! School got out and I was totally ready to start blogging on the regular again and then, our internet decided to be a little beotch and go out. I don't know what happens, the technicians on the phone didn't know what happened and neither did the ones who came out to our apartment. It was a mess and all I learned from the whole situation was that I hate Comcast with an unyielding fury. Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed Matt's guest post, I know I did, he's a standup guy to help me out like that.

Anyways, so much exciting stuff has happened. A) I graduated. (WOOOOOOT!!!!!!) B) Hung out with the cast of Spring Awakening C) Graduation party ($$$$) D) New roomies for the summer E) Movies, parties, living the life F) Working to finance the above.

Graduation was great, I mean I feel like the ceremony is more for the parents then anything, but it was good times nonetheless. I was more excited about hanging with my friend Sarah Hunt. She's in the national touring cast of Spring Awakening, and the show was in Detroit. We spent the day chilling around the city and catching up and then she gave me a backstage tour and introduced me to the rest of the cast. She then got me a stage seat (in Spring Awakening there are about 25 seats ON the stage) it was awesome, everyone did amazing, and being on the stage was ballin'. After the show I stuck around backstage to say goodbye and the whole cast signed a script for me... basically it was a pretty great night.

My graduation party was great, got to see a bunch of people from high school, including my 3rd grade teacher (now retired) who we taught to play beer pong haha. It was a great relaxing, fun day. After that we finished getting the new summer roommates moved in and I finally made it out to Crunchy's for the first time since the smoking ban in Michigan. I love Crunchy's on the weekend for karaoke. Once settled we had tons of free time, what with the internet being broken, so we've been going to movies (Robin Hood=mehhhhh), got my roommate started and finished on Arrested Development, and have been just hanging out.

Last week I started work at MDOT, 6:30-5:00 Mon-Thurs... all I know is I'm not cut out for office work. But it pays the bills. Gotta do what I gotta do. All I know is that I am so excited to see MacGruber on Tuesday hahaha Kristen Wiig is a personal hero of mine and I'm psyched.

OH MY GOSH! I can't believe I almost forgot to mention this! So Tuesday Conan O'Brien was putting on a show here at MSU and I had missed out getting tickets so I was super depressed all week, trying in vein to find tickets on Facebook and whatnot, no such luck. Anyways, Tuesday morning we get emails saying extra tickets had been released so I call up and buy 2 of them, then call my friend Angie to get her to go. We go to the will call and she hands me my tickets, I look down and BOOM ROW 2 CENTER!!!! We were literally 10 FEET from Conan O'Brien. It was an amazing show, he's such a cool guy, and so funny. It was awesome, so much fun, I can't say it enough.

Anyways, that's been my life, hopefully I'll be on here a bunch more now that I'm back to a regular schedule! I've missed you all!

Also you should check out the preview for "Easy A" starring Emma Stone, I'm pretty excited for it. Alright, Got to work early in the morning!

Down and Out

So I would have put guest post, but for some reason I've realized that people don't really read guest posts like they have cooties or something. So here's hoping this post isn't tainted.

As you can tell, this isn't jeanette. This is Mr O from A Rush of Blog to the Head. She sent me a text asking me what I thought about doing a guest post for her since her Internet is down and here I am, typing words for all of her followers.

We swapped numbers back last summer during the Warped Tour so we could give each our thoughts on our respective shows. I say that to tell you that the only way I feel I can do a guest post for her is to talk about our mutual love: music.

*I tried to do this post in her style. The title is a link to a song by The Academy Is, a band we both appreciate. There is a great piano version out there somewhere, but I just can't find it...

*Two of jeanette's favorite bands, Paramore and Tegan and Sara, are touring together. You should have known that by now if you have been following this blog, but I got news today that Alt Nation on Sirius XM is giving away tickets to EVERY date on the tour. Just go here to try and score some free tickets.

*I feel like this year has been a sleeper year for great cds. Vampire Weekend, Motion City Soundtrack and Minus the Bear have all put out great releases but the world only wants to talk about Ke$ha and Justin Beiber. Priorities man, the world needs to get them in order.

*Do you have any favorite cds from this year?

*Lastly, this has nothing to do with music, but a great show I got recommended to me by jeanette is Arrested Development. I watched the entire series on my own and thought it was so good I got my roommate into it and re-watched it from the beginning. We just finished the last episode tonight and now we are hoping that the rumors about a movie are true.

Well, that's it for me checking on this blog for jeanette. If you want to know what's going on with her (some pretty exciting things in my opinion) you should add her as a friend on facebook. Seriously, all the cool kids have.

Hopefully her Internet will start working and she will be back soon, but till then I will try to do like she does and leave you with a comic.

Oh goodness, it's been a while hasn't it. I know I've been saying it for a while but I was really busy, haha. Now that I'm done with senior design all I have left is a few exams and I'm not worried about those as much so I thought I'd come update everyone on what's been going on. I've always been a fan of MMA, but lately when I was super stressed I found out that watching MMA is a great tool to increasing my productivity, let it be known that BJ Penn is a badass.

However, I do feel pretty bad about neglecting this blog, between senior design and I've been busy, busy. Let's do a quick recap of the last 20 days:

1) Haven't made a decision yet regarding grad school, it's gonna happen before graduation.
2) Took the 8 hour FE exam... unsure of how it went.
3) Saw Kick Ass (LOVED IT)
4) Worked a ton
5) Quick trip home to Paw Paw
6) Saw The Losers (It was decent)
7) Got addicted to the new season of Dr. Who
8) Got chased by some ducks
9) Presented our design, the culmination of all my undergrad years
10) Bar crawl (see FB for pictures)
11) What's the last thing... oh yeah... got myself a new tattoo.

I've been thinking about getting my 5th tattoo for some time now and after the way things have been going (both good and bad) it seemed like the perfect time

The cross has been there for awhile (hence the faded look) the text is the new addition. It says "It's not faith if you use your eyes" the inspiration is the title song by Paramore, I've always been drawn to those lyrics and they fit well with my tattoo and my general philosophy on religion. I was raised Catholic, but have never been one to jump into Catholicism 100%. Yes, I believe in god, but I also believe that the church has some major issues it needs to address. In other words I believe that there's a God, but I also believe that said God would accept everyone for who they were, not all these crazy things you can't do.

Anyways, that's what I've been up to, just wanted to jump in and let you know that I am in fact alive, hopefully you all got that, I've been trying to keep up my comments on your blogs. I'll be back to regularly blogging soon, schools almost over, it will happen!
